The internal oscillator of a microcontroller like the Attiny85 are temperature dependent. The sound of two Attinys with the same oscillator code drifts in and out of tune as they are heated and cooled.
This was a quick experiment to demonstrate that it was possible, but it would be beautiful to make a full installation using this effect.
